Acudetox

Acudetox, also called auricular acupuncture or ear acupuncture, uses five, sterile, stainless steel needles placed at specific sites in the ear. These needles work to reduce the cravings for drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol, relieve insomnia, calm anxiety, eliminate symptoms of witthdrawal, and promote a feeling of wellness.

It's easy to start because the client does not have to give a full bio-psycho-social history before beginning treatment. The entire process is non-verbal!

It won't interfere with other types of treatment such as counseling, 12 Steps Groups or medication assisted treatment.

It can help prepare clients become "ready" for other forms of addiction therapy.

Some clients report an immediate sense of well-being.

The needles are about the width of a strand of hair. The process is painless for most people.

The needles are used only once, so there is no risk of infection.

It's non-addictive, so you can and should do it over and over again. In fact, the more often you do it in the beginning, the longer lasting the effect.

Since it's perfectly safe, you can use it while you are pregnant.

It's non-judgmental. It's not punitive.
